Emirates Stadium
The Arsenal F.C‘s home until 2006 was Arsenal Stadium also known as Highbury. During it’s high peak, the Highbury Stadium could hold over 60,000 spectators. But regulations had forced the Arsenal to change the Highbury into an all seater stadium; this would reduce the seating to about 38,000 people.
Owners of the stadium wanted to expand but due to some restrictions, the other three stands that were to be built were too close to residential homes. In 2000, a brand new 60,000 seat capacity stadium was built, the Emirates Stadium. Also in 2000, the Arsenal’s new training centre was opened.
