Allianz Arena Stadium
Allianz Arena
Allianz Arena is a football stadium from Munich, Germany, and the home ground of one of the most powerful German football clubs, FC Bayern Munchen. It serves also as a home ground for TSV 1860 Munchen, another old club of the city.
The two teams play on Allianz Arena since this large stadium was opened, in 2005; before this, they played on Munich Olympic Stadium, which was constructed back in 1972.
Allianz Arena can hold up to 69,901 visitors (seating and standing) or 66,000 (only seating). It was a venue for the FIFA World Cup championship’s games. Building the stadium cost no less than 340 million Euros.

Although in 2004, the construction of the Allianz Arena was the subject of a corruption trial, in May 2005, the stadium was opened with an exhibition game between TSV 1860 Munchen and FC Nuremberg. The next day, Bayern Munchen played another game, against the German national squad.
The new stadium’s naming rights were bought by Allianz, an important services provider, for a period of 30 years.
